United States defeated Serbia 129-92 to defend their gold medal of the just concluded 2014 FIBA World Cup Sunday in Spain. Despite few setbacks going into the tournament with Paul George injury and team withdrawal of Kevin Durant, Team USA proved their basketball supremacy is still intact.
Kyrie Irving and James Harden led Team USA scoring 26 and 23 points respectively along with plenty of help with 6 players in double-figures. The team combined to shoot 45-of-70 from the field and 15-of-30 from three-point range.
Serbia’s Nemanja Bjelica and Nikola Kalinic scored 18 points in taking the Silver medal.
