VIDEO: ESPN Mike and Mike vs ESPN Bill Simmons War

There is a war going on between ESPN radio host Mike and Mike versus ESPN podcaster Bill Simmons and I don’t know if it’s good for the sport. First Bill Simmons was a guest on Colin Cowherd ESPN radio show The Herd on Wednesday. Cowherd asked Simmons about LeBron James early season struggles in Cleveland.

Although Simmons acknowledged that it’s too early in the season but his rationale was,

“Anyone who thinks LeBron looks the same is fooling themselves, He doesn’t have the same impulsiveness. He looks 20 pounds lighter physically. Just his general force-of-natureness capacity — whatever you want to say — it’s not there … This is not a jump-to-conclusion thing. I have been watching this Cavs team since the preseason games started, and he does not look the same.”

Somewhere in ESPN network of sportscasters, Mike and Mike show picked on Bill Simmon’s Albert Pujols bust analogy, as Mike Golic said, “I think it’s one of the most ridiculous statements I’ve heard four games into a season in my life in any sport, That’s what I’ll say about Bill Simmons. So, you know, he grabbed a headline, which is something I know he loves — and that’s one of the most ridiculous lines I’ve ever heard in any sport in my life. Four games into a season. I don’t even … that’s ridiculous.”

Then boom, Bill Simmons fires back in series of tweets:

Simmons referring to USA Today’s Big Lead article. And he’s not done yet…

The Mike and Mike vs ESPN Bill Simmons war isn’t over yet. We still have to hear Mike and Mike show on Friday morning. Bill Simmons is a brave man. But remember he’s fresh off from three-week suspension by ESPN for criticizing NFL commissioner Roger Goodell.
