Former San Francisco 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh was introduced officially on Tuesday as Michigan Wolverines football coach at halftime of the Wolverines’ basketball game versus Illinois in packed Wolverines fans at Crisler Center.
Harbaugh receives a thunderous ovation and pledge to bring not national championship title but restore great tradition of Michigan excellence.
“Thank you for the enthusiasm and the support, even though we haven’t done a darn thing, it is much appreciated,” Harbaugh said while standing at center court. “I pledge to you that we will do our very best to carry on the great tradition of Michigan excellence all across the board.
“And what I ask, is this is a team effort. It’s the faculty, the alumni, the students, the student-athletes. Everybody that’s for us, is for us.”
