Sun Byte Software

About

Sun Byte Software has two freeware applications in the field of digital video playback. The first app SceneMax is a lightweight player for watching highlights from a selection of videos, without needing to edit and generate a new video file. You may quickly put together a video sequence and play it from the source files. It's useful for making short sequences for showing friends, and for watching action camera footage from GoPro™ style cameras.

The second app VideFlow is a slow motion frame player for analysing sporting motions. When learning a new sports move, it's helpful to film yourself and watch the movement in slow motion. Fast frame advance with a jog dial lets you pause and skip from frame to frame to see the motion clearly. It also encorportates AI computer vision, with full body mapping as well as two custom trackers that can track sports equipment or anything else. You may draw visualisations onto the video including motion traces, and export to an MP4 file (watermarked in the free version).

These are personal projects that I created to implement my program ideas. I also wanted to learn programming and build software development experience. I hope you will enjoy using them. Paul.

SceneMax

SceneMax is a utility for playing back a custom sequence from your video files (known as scenes). It allows you to play customiseable highlights to create your own viewing experience, without having to watch the whole of each file. You simply watch parts of the original files without the need for editing and creating and a whole new video.

When playing back our home videos or GoPro™ footage we usually don't want to watch the full length of each clip. This is especially the case if we are showing it to friends or family. We want to show the highlights of the clips joined together into one continuous video, and then set it to play for the whole duration and sit back and watch. Normally this requires creation of a new video using editing software. This can be time consuming and involved especially for those unfamiliar with film production. If you just want simple playback of a sequence, SceneMax provides an easy way to do it without editing.
